Methylone has different names to its credit and chemically, it is denoted as 3, 4-methylenedioxy-N- methylcathinone.

The molecular formula on the other hand is C11H13NO3.

The chemical has many resemblances with MDMA which is known to be a controlled substance in different parts of the world.

There are similarities of the product with Cathinone as well.

At many places, Methylone is sold as bath salt mix.

The chemical is known to affect the biological systems in a way that is similar to MDMA. Over usage of this chemical may cause irritation in the human skin and eye.

Apart from that, human respiratory system may be affected with it as well.

However, there are additional ?-ketones present in case of Methylone.

In 2004, a designer drug known as Bang appeared in Netherlands and upon further chemical researches, it was proved that the same has Methylone as one of its active ingredients.

Please note that the US Drug Enforcement Agency has listed the research chemical as a controlled substance and as a result, distributing or possessing the same is not legal.

There are additional laws against possessing the chemical in five US states and there are US Federal laws that ban the usage of the chemical.

The chemical is illegal for usage in other countries such as the United Kingdom, New Zealand, The Netherlands and Sweden. However, in Canada, you can still buy or possess the substance.
